Why I started the PR Club…

Hi friends! Thank you so much for being a part of this community and for choosing to invest in yourself and your career. If you don’t know me already, my name is Mikki Auld and I am the founder of Paloma Roan in Brisbane, Australia.

A short look into my career thus far… truth is, I didn’t expect to find myself working in the hair industry. I fell into it, just as I kind of “fell” into growing my own business. I’ve worked Australia wide and abroad, since opening my first salon “Mikki Auld” in 2016, I have scaled a wildly successful brand with a deathly loyal cult following and it’s growing rapidly.

From the moment I set foot on the salon floor, I had an urge to contribute and to help shape our industry. Hairdressing can offer an incredible career and I think we’d all agree that over the past few years, we’ve seen some major changes. You can make big, and I mean, BIG, money in hairdressing - all it takes is a new perspective, some hard work and a little strategy. Hair salons do not make for an easy, breezy business model but slow down, get it right and the hard work will begin to pay off.

PR Club is a platform that I wish I had when I was starting out - no one gives you a clear and concise plan or how-to guide on how to run a salon but I hope this can be the next best thing.

Why take my advice? Of course there are so many incredible stylists and business owners out there - finding yourself a mentor is the first best business decision you can make. So a little about me - At the time of writing this blog I was 32, working on the salon floor a maximum of ten hours a week (very close to removing myself completely), about to embark on a three month trip of Europe and the proud owner of a 7 figure hair salon. I achieved all of this in less than 5 years.

I have made so many mistakes along the way and have encountered a lot of set backs but if this is where I am as I’m just getting started, the future is looking bright.

PR Club will be your go-to for everything business and hair education - I will share with you EVERYTHING I have learned over the last 5 years and nothing will be off limits.
